BACKGROUND: I matriculated in 1988 at Christian Brothers College in Boksburg. I spent 18 months in military service which was compulsory at the time, before attending the University of Witwatersrand, where I achieved BCom and BAcc Degrees. I joined Deloitte in 1996 and completed my articles and CA(SA) designation in 1999.

INDUSTRY BACKGROUND: I have been in the Auditing profession from 1996, performing articles at Deloitte till the present as a partner at Mazars. During this time I have been involved with senior level management and owners of listed companies and small to medium sized businesses. During my time as article clerk and manager in both Deloitte and Mazars, the focus was always the technical aspects of audit and accounting. The move to partnership in 2004 provided greater insight into the strategic side of business. As well as involvement in the running of an audit practice, I was exposed to the intricacies of, in particular, small to medium sized business. I have been involved with owners and managers in startup business as well as established businesses.
